Grimace's Birthday Shake is only available as part of Grimace's Birthday Meal, which cost me $10.69 (compared to $8.89 for a similar combo but with a fountain drink instead of a shake) and includes a choice of either a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets to go along with a medium shake and medium fries.
The shake had a fairly deep purple hue with a few stripes of white that disappeared as the shake started to melt. It was pretty smooth and decently thick but still easy enough to drink through a straw.
Flavor-wise, there was a solid berry flavor with an underlying base of creamy vanilla taste. The berry flavor tasted generically like "berry flavor" rather than any specific berry and lacked tart or tangy notes.
Besides Grimace's Birthday Shake, the meal included a limited-time paperboard box for the Chicken McNuggets and the limited-time paper bag that the meal came in.
When it came down to it, Grimace's Birthday Shake made for a solid if unspectacular shake. The flavor was nice enough but it's nothing I'd ever get a craving for.
