I bought one for $4.29.
My particular Double Beef Volcano Burrito was well-assembled with a fairly tight burrito-folding job. I wouldn't quite call it "plump" but it was nicely filled out. The filling was also pretty well distributed.
For the most part, the Double Beef Volcano Burrito, like a lot of limited-time burritos from Taco Bell, offered a very familiar combination of beef, cheese, sour cream, rice, and chips.
The beef and rice provided most of the flavor with similar seasonings, while the cheese and sour cream added creamy richness and a bit of tang. Between the components were a decent amount of varied textures from the yielding cheese to the soft rice kernels to the crunchy Fiesta strips.
Beyond the regulars, the Lava Sauce provided a moderate spicy heat, an extra bit of seasoning, just a touch of tanginess, and a creamy mild cheddar base. It complemented the other ingredients well.
Overall, Taco Bell's Double Beef Volcano Burrito made for a more flavorful, spicy version of a fairly standard but well-made Taco Bell burrito.
