I paid $5.49 for one, which is the same price as a regular Mexican Pizza.
My particular Cheesy Jalapeño Mexican Pizza came with one jalapeño slice per quarter so they didn't amount to much. I got a brief hit of heat and tang from each one as well as a bit of crunch but that was about it.
The layer of nacho cheese on top of the Mexican Pizza made a slightly better accounting for itself. With a creamy, mild cheesiness in most bites as well as a smooth, slightly gooey mouthfeel. That being said, Taco Bell's nacho cheese sauce actual delivers a bit of heat and jalapeno notes on its own or eaten with chips but I often find that such subtle flavors are generally lost whenever I encounter it in any of their other menu items and that was the case here.
Beyond the two "new" additions, the Cheesy Jalapeño Mexican Pizza offered two delicately crispy shells sandwiching a layer of seasoned beef and refried beans between them for a mix of savory meatiness and earthy notes. The Mexican pizza sauce, which is tomato- and green chile-based, contributed an extra savory element and tasted similar to an enchilada sauce. The 3-cheese blend added a bit of a stretchy pull to go with very mild cheesiness. The diced tomatoes were good for a fresh element more than tomato flavor.
Overall, Taco Bell's Cheesy Jalapeno Mexican Pizza made for some tasty eating with a good variety of tastes and textures. But with its slight changes versus the original, there's, it mostly just felt like eating a regular Mexican pizza.
