A 6-oz pie was $2.99 on sale.
These are meant to be an "Aussie twist on the standard pot pie," which seems to mean that it comes in a puff pastry crust and I could actually hold it in my hand to eat it as the crust was quite sturdy and thick.
In addition to being sturdy and thick, the crust was flaky but not too heavy. It was a little plain and could have use a little more fat (like butter) for richness though.
Inside, the creamy gravy was suitably thick and savory but could have stood some more seasoning. There was a good amount of chicken and it was fairly tender to go with softened but not mushy veggies.
Overall, Boomerang's Chicken Classic Pie was just decent for me. Texture-wise, it was good with sizable chicken and veggie chunks to go with a suitably thick gravy and enjoyably crispy and flaky crust. Flavor-wise, you might want to pop the lid and mix in some more salt and pepper. Or, if you want to eat it Aussie-style, you can squirt some ketchup on top.
