In case you're wondering what Merry Cream is, it's white-chocolate-flavored whipped cream with mascarpone cheese, strawberry powder, and silver sugar. The combination of the red powder and silver sugar gives the cream a sparkly, festive look.
The blended portion of the Frappuccino itself features a vanilla Frappuccino base swirled with a sweet and tart strawberry pulp sauce. The overall flavor seems to be a mix of sweet creaminess and tart strawberry--basically strawberries and cream for the holidays.
For a warmer beverage, Starbucks Japan also offers the Strawberry Merry Cream Tea Latte. It consists of Earl Gray tea with strawberry juice, milk, and white mocha syrup, topped with Merry Cream.
A Tall Strawberry Merry Cream Frappuccino costs 700 yen ($4.73 US), while a Tall Strawberry Merry Cream Tea Latte is 600 yen (~$4.06 US).
Other beverages featured on Starbucks Japan's 2023 holiday menu include: the Joyful Medley Tea Latte (the tea is a blend of black tea, oolong tea, jasmine tea, and apricot flavor), Gingerbread Latte, and Creme Brulee Latte.
