Maple from Canada Will Pay Your Maple Syrup Fee If You Add It to Your Breakfast Order

In an interesting marketing campaign meant to highlight pure maple syrup over "table syrup" or "pancake syrup" in the US, Maple from Canada is offering to reimburse any extra fee you incur when eating out for breakfast and opting for pure maple syrup instead of table syrup. They're calling it "Bill the Maple."

Maple from Canada is a brand of the Québec Maple Syrup Producers who produces about 90% of Canada's maple syrup and 71% of the world's maple syrup.

The concept of Bill the Maple is to make Americans aware of the difference between maple syrup and table syrup. Maple from Canada cites a 2022 study conducts on their behalf that reviews that more than half of "American respondents misidentified table syrup as maple syrup."

If your favorite breakfast spot charges extra for pure maple syrup, you get your fee reimbursed through December 30, 2023 (or until $10,000 US has been disbursed), by uploading a picture of your receipt with the extra maple charge to the Bill the Maple website.

The promotion is only open to US residents because Canadians apparently already know what maple syrup tastes like. Also the US is the number 1 importer of Canadian maple syrup.
