A 7-oz bowl was $2.35.
Aldi's breakfast bowl provided a good selection of traditional American breakfast staples. The only thing really missing is some sort of toast.
For the most part, the taste was spot on, while the textures were a touch lacking here and there.
The diced potatoes turned out well. While the don't offer any sort of sear or crust, they had a nice bite to them. They were cooked tender but not mushy. Flavor-wise, there was a mellow russet flavor to them.
The eggs were a little dry and had a surface texture that reminded me of cauliflower. They had a decent eggy flavor to them.
The bacon and sausage were soft and a little chewy but provided the salty pork notes with additional smoke from the bacon. The sausage could use some more spices.
The cheddar cheese was nicely melted and offered a welcomed cheesy note.
Overall, Aldi's Breakfast Best Meat Lovers Breakfast Bowl manages to offer a credible and very convenient American breakfast combination. It also makes for a pretty nice breakfast taco filling (I recommend it on those uncooked flour tortillas you can find in the refrigerated section of the supermarket. It's not much more work but offers a much better taste and texture over pre-made tortillas, while also keeping better).
