Del Taco's Grilled Chicken Stuffed Quesadilla Taco features grated cheddar cheese and Queso Blanco grilled between two flour tortillas (i.e a quesadilla). The quesadilla is then folded and filled with fresh-grilled marinated chicken, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and grated cheddar cheese.
It costs at $2.69 for one or two for $4 at my local Del Taco but I had a coupon where it was free with any purchase.
The flour tortilla that made up the quesadilla were thin and pliable with a slight chew to them. Unfortunately, the layer of cheese between them were also very thin and a bit lacking in the queso department. Still, they imparted an extra bit of cheddar flavor to the proceedings.
The filling inside the Stuffed Quesadilla Taco was very similar to the chain's Del Taco only with grilled chicken instead of seasoned beef.
The grilled chicken comes in chunks and was well-seasoned with just a slight tang. Texture-wise, it was fairly tender and moist. There was a good amount to go around.
The lettuce and tomato were pretty fresh with mild flavors. The lettuce provided a watery crunch, while the tomatoes were firm.
The cheese added a mild cheddar flavor and another layer of texture.
Overall, Del Taco's Grilled Chicken Stuffed Quesadilla Taco made for a pretty solid chicken soft taco option. While I wished there was a bit more cheese to the quesadilla, the amount given wasn't unexpected given the $2.69 pricing.
