A 16-oz bag was $4.99.
Here's how they look frozen right out of the bag:
I ended up preparing these in the air fryer and they turned out really well. They had a relatively thick, battered shell that crisped up pretty well in the air fryer. The shell had a relatively smooth surface compared to a more breading-heavy crust.
However, there wasn't much seasoning to the batter other than salt. I didn't pick up much of the "savory-seasoned" taste.
Inside the Cheddar curds were soft and warm with a very mild cheddar flavor to them and the occasional squeaky quality that curds are known for. However, they're not particularly rich or creamy.
When it comes down to it, Trader Joe's Breaded Cheddar Cheese Curds turned out pretty well as far as texture goes but suffered a bit on the flavor end as mostly all I got was saltiness. I suppose you can dip it in sauce but that might be all you taste. Between these and Trader Joe's mozzarella sticks, I'd go for the mozzarella sticks every time as there's more seasoning and creaminess to them.
