Del Taco Brings Birria Back

Del Taco brings back its Birria menu for a limited time and adds a new item to the mix with the launch of the new Shredded Beef Birria Grilled Combo Burrito.

The key ingredient to Del Taco's Birria menu is beef that's been braised for several hours with "traditional spices and chile peppers" and is then shredded. It was first introduced last fall.

The Shredded Beef Birria Grilled Combo Burrito features shredded beef birria, slow-cooked beans, house-grated cheddar cheese, tangy green sauce (AKA salsa verde), diced onions, and chopped cilantro, wrapped in a warm flour tortilla and then grilled. It's served with a side of consomé for dipping.

Returning birria items on the menu include:

• Two Shredded Beef Birria Tacos - House-grated cheddar cheese melted between two fresh-grilled corn tortillas folded around shredded beef birria, diced onions, and chopped cilantro. They're served with two fresh-cut lime wedges and a side consomé for dipping.
• Shredded Beef Birria Quesadilla -  Shredded beef birria, house-grated cheddar cheese, and tangy green sauce folded into a flour tortilla and grilled. A side of consomé for dipping is included.
• Shredded Beef Birria Ramen -  Beef broth consomé with fresh wavy ramen noodles and shredded beef birria topped with diced onions, chopped cilantro, and a fresh-cut lime wedge.
