The Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich features a new Golden BBQ Sauce to go with the buttermilk-battered, crispy-fried chicken breast, barrel-cured pickles, and buttery-toasted brioche bun of the fast-food chain's chicken sandwich. The new sauce is described by Popeyes as a sweet and tangy BBQ honey mustard sauce (which sounds a lot like a Georgia or Carolina Gold barbecue sauce).
As with the rest of the chain's Chicken Sandwich varieties, you can add a slice of Havarti cheese and applewood-smoked bacon to the sandwich for an extra charge. You can also get it with a Blackened Chicken filet instead of the standard fried chicken filet.
To promote the new Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Popeyes offers new "Lunch Money FUNds" (because they're aiming to bring back the "fun" to lunchtime) in the form of 600 rewards points (enough to redeem for a Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich) when you place an order of $10 or more using an offer in your Popeyes Rewards account. The deal is good at participating locations for a limited time through June 23, 2024.
