A 13.5-oz bowl was $1.99 on sale.
As with anything breaded or battered cooked in the microwave, the chicken fritters' tempura coating was completely soft. It provided a loose skin over the meaty and decently juicy ground chicken underneath. The fritters were fairly thick with about eight bite-sized pieces in the bowl.
The vegetables were a mix of peas, carrots, onions, and red bell peppers. The peas and carrots stood out the most as they retained more texture and flavor versus the onions and peppers, which were milder and softer.
The noodles were similar to spaghetti but were more slick, tender, and bendy. They didn't lend themselves to holding the sauce well.
The sauce didn't taste like sesame at all. Instead, it was a mild soy-based sauce that was sweet and slightly tangy. I would call it a generically East Asian sauce.
While nothing was great, Banquet's Sesame Chicken Lo Mein Mega Bowl still made for a good frozen meal option for when you're feeling some vaguely Asian-ish chow mein-type noodles in a hurry. I do wish they separated the chicken fritters from the rest of the meal so that you at least have the option to throw them in the air fryer to add a crispy element to the dish.
