An 18-oz box of four sandwiches was $5.99 on sale (normally $8.79).
The sandwich looked a bit weird out of the freezer as the egg was such a uniform disc that it almost looked like a piece of cheese.
These are easy enough to prepare. You just unwrap one, fold a paper towel around it, and pop it into the microwave for about 90 seconds. To get a crispy crust on the biscuit, you can give it a minute or two in the air fryer or toaster oven. Otherwise, it's soft all the way through and just a tad mushy. It wasn't a particularly rich biscuit but it was serviceable.
The cheese was thoroughly melted but it would have been weird if it wasn't given the preparation.
The sausage was fairly dense and juicy with a little bounce to it. Flavor-wise, it was salty and lightly seasoned without any particular spices standing out.
Looks aside, the egg was oddly uniform with a smooth consistency without any air bubbles. If I had to guess, they poured a pre-beaten egg mixture into a round mold and knocked all the bubbles out before slowly cooking it. It was a little dense, just a touch rubbery, and pretty thin.
Beyond the weird egg, Jimmy Dean's Sausage Egg and Cheese Biscuit Breakfast Sandwiches were nice enough and convenient. They generally cover the basics of a traditional breakfast biscuit sandwich for when the craving hits and sometimes that's what you want.
