The birthday promotion is an annual tradition for the chain was founded on July 13, 1937, in Winston-Salem, NC by Vernon Rudolph. Krispy Kreme sometimes celebrates the birthday on the 12th though.

There is a limit of two discounted dozen on the deal when ordered in-shop or at the drive-thru and a limit of one discounted dozen when ordering online through the Krispy Kreme mobile app or website using the code "BDAY".
