An 18-oz box of four sandwiches was $5.99 on sale (normally $8.79).
If you've read my review of Jimmy Dean's Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit Sandwich, the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Blueberry Griddle Cake Sandwich is the same thing only with blueberry pancakes instead of a split biscuit.
The sausage was decently seasoned and salt with a meaty bite. There was a mild herbiness to it but it wasn't very distinctive. I would say it made for an pretty average breakfast sausage.
The cheese and egg were also mild. The cheese melted nicely while the egg was thin with an overly smooth, slightly chewy texture. I was hoping for something a bit fluffier (or fluffy at all really).
While the savory ingredients were generally mild, the blueberry pancakes punched above their weight in the blueberry department. They're made with actual blueberries but also natural flavor. I would not say that the blueberries went well with the eggs, sausage, and cheese. The pancakes were fluffy and soft but sturdy enough for a sandwich.
Overall, Jimmy Dean Sausage, Egg and Cheese Blueberry Griddle Cake Sandwich is a pass for me. The quality was okay but it mostly tasted like blueberry pancakes with odd savory notes. Fortunately, it's easy enough to separate the pancakes from the rest of the sandwich and heat them separately, which is how I will be eating the rest of the box.
