Review: Tyson - Caribbean Style Crispy Wings

A bag of Tyson Caribbean Style Crispy Wings.

Tyson Restaurant Style Caribbean Style Crispy Chicken Wings features fully-cooked, frozen wings dry-rubbed with a Caribbean-style seasoning.

A 16-oz bag contains about 13 wing segments by my count. I received this courtesy of Tyson but it costs $8.99 on sale ($11.99 at regular price) at my local supermarket.

The pieces felt just a tad on the small size but didn't lack in meat. They're not battered but were dusted with a bit of flour based on what I gathered from the ingredient list. The chicken was juicy with a crispy skin, and the meat came off the bone easily.

The wings sported a spiced seasoning profile paired with a slightly smoky flavor. I picked up on some hints of coconut but I could be mistaken as it doesn't appear in the ingredients list. There was a mild but slow-building heat to it. The flavor was infused in both the meat itself as well as the skin.

I don't know if I would go so far as to call Tyson Restaurant Style Caribbean Style Crispy Chicken Wings "Caribbean" but the flavor was very enjoyable, the chicken was both crispy and juicy, and it was easy to prepare in the air fryer. I would rate them better than over-baked/roasted wings from a pizza chain. The air fryer seems to provide better results than a pizza oven for wings.
