The new sweet and spicy chicken dish features chicken marinated with seared chipotle peppers, seasoned with "savory Mexican spices, and finished with a bit of honey. While chipotle is a familiar and namesake flavor for the chain, honey is a new touch.
The chain cites the rising consumer trend for sweet-heat ("swicy") flavors as a motivation for the new menu item.
Chipotle aims to release two to three new menu items each year. In 2023, they launched Chicken al Pastor and the Fajita Quesadilla. This year so far, they've only brought back Chicken al Pastor.
