A 13-oz box was $2.99 on sale.
According to the box, the Salisbury steak patties are a blend of chicken, pork, and beef. They were somewhat coarsely ground but tightly packed with a slightly rubbery crust. Compared to your typical burger patty or sausage patty, the Salisbury steak was slightly chewier.
The Creamy Provolone Cheese Sauce was thick with a moderately creamy, savory taste and a hint of provolone. It clung to the steak well. There were a few strands of bell peppers and onions floating about but they were mushy and lacked flavor.
The "roasted" potatoes were not browned at all. They're diced fairly small and, if I were to guess, I'd have to say they were steamed. They were soft and potato-y but didn't seem to be seasoned at all. I dipped them in the sauce to make them more interesting. I don't know why they're called "roasted potatoes."
The bottom line here is Banquet's Creamy Provolone Salisbury Steak Mega Meal was mediocre as far as frozen meals at this price point go. Salisbury steak with brown gravy and mashed potatoes is a better bet in my book.
