Review: Denny's - Berry Stuffed French Toast

A plate of Denny's Berry Stuffed French Toast next to a quarter.

Denny's Berry Stuffed French Toast features four slices of Brioche French Toast. Each pair of French toast slices sandwich a layer of sweet cream filling and is topped with strawberries, strawberry sauce, and powdered sugar.

It was $8.99 for an a la carte order that included four slices of French toast

Each stack of French toast was hefty with the size and weight of a good-sized burger.

The crust on the French toast was crispy but slightly burnt. Inside, it was moist, eggy, and mildly sweet. It was thicker and more substantial than the previous white bread triangle slices they used for French toast.

The sweet cream filling was moderately rich with a note of vanilla. In terms of texture, the density and slight tackiness suggested a gelling agent of some sort was added.

The sauce was good. Rather than the typical sticky syrup, it actually seemed like slightly reduced macerated strawberry juice. There was a sweet, fresh strawberry flavor to it that enhanced the fresh, sliced strawberries.

Overall, Denny's Berry Stuffed French Toast turned out really well. There was an enjoyable strawberries and cream component to go with the respectable French toast.
