The new menu item features a pair of street-sized toasted cheddar chalupa shells filled with a choice of Cantina Slow-Roasted Chicken or grilled, marinated steak, cilantro, onions, shredded cheddar cheese, and new Chile Lime Crema Sauce.
Taco Bell launched a similar item--new Cheesy Street Chalupas--earlier this summer. The key differences between the two are the cheddar chalupa shells versus quesalupa-inspired shells, the addition of shredded cheddar in the test item, and the new Chili Lime Crema Sauce rather than Jalapeno Ranch sauce.
The price tag on the Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas ranges from $4.99 to $5.99 (varying by location). They're also being sold in a Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas Box which includes:
- An order of Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas
- A Beefy 5-Layer Burrito
- A crunchy taco
- Chips and Nacho Cheese Sauce
- A medium fountain drink
Pricing for the Box combo ranges from $8.99 to $9.99.
Taco Bell describes the concept as "the latest twist on the fan-favorite chalupa" and "an epic nod to the street taco but done Taco Bell's way."
