Hot Ones' Spicy Garlic Chicken Strips feature frozen, breaded, seasoned chicken strips with the flavor of The Classic Garlic Fresno Hot Sauce.
A 22.5-oz bag was $5.99 on sale ($12.49 normally).
The chicken strips were listed as "mild" according to the Hot Ones heat scale on the bag but they would rate at least a medium in my book as they're spicier than you'll find on the regular menu at most major fast-food chains. The heat hit pretty quick but didn't linger for too long. To go along with the kick was a strong, savory garlicky flavor that I could smell before tasting it. I like garlic so that flavor was nice.
I prepared these in the air fryer and the breading on the chicken was thick and audibly crunchy with a craggy structure to it. There was a minimal soggy layer between the chicken and breading. The chicken was tender and fairly juicy while retaining a substantial meaty bite.
Overall, Hot Ones' Spicy Garlic Chicken Strips turned out very well in terms of flavor and texture but might be only "mild" for people who often eat hot sauce with their meals.
