The $5 Tenders Box includes three KFC Original Recipe Tenders, an order of Secret Recipe Fries, and two sauces for dipping.
To complement the new tenders, KFC also welcomes new Comeback Sauce. The new sauce is described as "a creamy, zesty, craveable sauce that pairs perfectly with our world-famous Original Recipe fried chicken. So delicious you will want to come back for more!" The chain now claims three of its sauces as "signature sauces." They include the new Comeback Sauce as well as Sticky Chicky Sauce, and KFC Sauce. Other (non-signature) sauces from KFC include Buffalo Ranch, Honey BBQ, Classic Ranch, and Honey Mustard.
In a playful shot at the competition (read: Popeyes) in the "chicken tender battle," KFC will be giving out free Original Recipe Tenders on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in three "carefully selected" cities: Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Atlanta.
According to Catherine Tan-Gillespie, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Development Officer, KFC US, "We know consumers crave bold flavor and chicken tenders are a familiar favorite--that's why we're proudly proclaiming the deliciousness of our new tenders seasoned with our secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices. Nothing hits like the unmatched flavor of KFC's Original Recipe."
KFC previously tested the Original Recipe Tenders in Cincinnati in 2023 and in several markets in June 2024.
Although it's been some time, KFC once served a similar product called "Original Recipe Chicken Strips."
