Jack in the Box's Sausage, Egg & Cheese Sourdough Scrambler features scrambled eggs, a grilled sausage patty, and melty American cheese served on toasted sourdough bread.
I paid $3.49 for one.
When I opened up the sandwich to get a better look at the eggs, there didn't seem to be all that much, but a closer examination showed a pretty thick layer of fluffy, nicely scrambled eggs. The texture was good with the expected mild eggy flavor. The eggs offer a bit of novelty as most Jack in the Box breakfast sandwich come standard with a fried egg.
The sausage was decently thick, with the typical finely ground texture found in fast-food sausage patties. It was sufficiently salty, porky, and fatty, but it could have used a bit more seasoning.
The two slices of cheese were nicely melted with a creamy American cheese flavor.
The sourdough bread was that weird toasted but also slightly soft and chewy texture you get at a lot of fast-food places (I have found that it heats up very nicely in an air fryer--crunchy but with a soft interior). It was buttered and the flavor came through quite nicely.
Taken altogether, the Jack in the Box Sausage, Egg & Cheese Sourdough Scrambler was good on the texture front--there was a fair variety and the eggs were particularly nice. However, it was a bit lacking in the flavor portion. A more heavily seasoned sausage and/or sauce would have helped immensely here.
