Starbucks No Longer Charging for Non-Dairy Milk Customizations

Starbucks' dairy and non-dairy milk options.
Starbucks is no longer charging extra if you opt to customize your drink with a non-dairy milk alternative. The coffee chain offers soy milk, oat milk, almond milk, and coconut milk as an alternative to cow milk.

Substituting non-dairy milk in a Starbucks beverage is the second-most requested customization, behind adding a shot of espresso. According to Starbucks, the free non-dairy milk option amounts to more than a 10% price reduction for non-dairy drinkers.

Non-dairy milks tend to cost more than dairy milks so coffee shops tend to pass along the cost to customers as an added charge.
