Review: Taco Bell Birthday Cake Churro

The packaging for Taco Bell's Birthday Cake Churros.

Taco Bell Birthday Cake Churro features a warm churro filled with Milk Bar's signature birthday cake frosting and topped with a combination of confetti sprinkles and pink sanding sugar.

An order of two churros cost me $3.49. In terms of size, they looked to be about 5 or six inches.

My churros were piping hot, light, and wonderfully crispy like they'd just come out of the fryer. The filling temperature was just a touch below tongue-burning.

I don't recommend eating these in the car as they're quite messy. The sprinkles and sanding sugar tended to spray everywhere as I bit into the churro. Additionally, some frosting leaked out from the end as I ate.

Besides the flavor of slightly sweet fried dough, most of the churro's flavor came from the birthday cake frosting inside which was sweet, rich, and creamy.

I saved one of the Birthday Cake Churros and tried it later when it was cold. It was still crunchy but with a stale feeling to the fried dough. The frosting still kept a nice, smooth texture without hardening.

I don't know if I got lucky with a fresh batch but Taco Bell's Birthday Cake Churros turned out great. They look like a bit of a mess but the flavors and textures were excellent.
