The new pizza crust option features the chain's buttery-flavored Handmade Pan dough stuffed with cheese made with mozzarella (AKA "pizza cheese") topped with Domino’s signature garlic seasoning and Parmesan. Given the Handmade Pan pizza dough, Domino's stuffed crust is available as a medium pizza rather than as the large pizza of competitors.
As a carryout promotion, you can get a 1-topping Parmesan Stuffed Crust pizza for $9.99 each. Parmesan Stuffed Crust is also available as a $4 upgrade for any medium pizzas in Domino's long-running mix-and-match deal.
Among the Big Four pizza chains (Domino's, Little Caesars, Papa Johns, and Pizza Hut), Domino's is quite the late-comer in the stuffed crust pizza competition. Stuffed crust pizza was first introduced in 1995 by Pizza Hut and for some time, Pizza Hut was the only one to offer it. It wasn't until 2020 that rival Papa Johns added a stuffed crust option. In 2021, Little Caesars welcomed a Pepperoni and Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza and in 2023, launched its Stuffed Crazy Crust Pizza (although some locations had previously offered a stuffed crust option for some time). Little Caesars also added a limited-time stuffed crust version of its Deep Dish pizza back in 2016.
According to Domino's, its late entry is due to several factors, including the increased popularity of the format and "operational efficiency" (i.e. stuffed crust pizzas take more time to make and it took the chain some time to develop tools and processes to make them faster). It should be noted that Domino's has offered stuffed crust pizza in other countries for some time now (it was introduced in 2011 in the UK and several other countries have added the crust since).
