Review: Mother's Mighty Dynamite Dinosaurs Cookies

A bag of Mother's Mighty Dynamite Dinosaurs Cookies.

Mother's Mighty Dynamite Dinosaurs Cookies are dinosaur-shaped chocolaty cookies covered in frosting and confetti sprinkles. There's a Jurassic World tie-in that features prominently on the packaging.

A 9-oz package costs $4.99 at my local supermarket but I received these courtesy of Mother's Cookies.

Mother's Mighty Dynamite Dinosaurs Cookies next to a quarter.

These operate using the same formula as Mother's Circus Animals (cookies covered in frosting and sprinkles) only with a chocolaty twist. The shapes include pteranodon, tyrannosaurus rex, triceratops, and brachiosaurus, while the colors are blue and green.

The shapes and colors provide some visual novelty, but taste-wise, it's the cocoa in the cookies that's the difference maker. There's a slightly bittersweet chocolaty note to the cookies to go with the creamy sweetness. For textures, you get the same crispiness from the cookies, a bit of softness from the icing, and the occasional crunch from the sprinkles.

Overall, Mother's Mighty Dynamite Dinosaurs Cookies fall in the "good but not great" category for me. While I enjoy chocolate very much, I'm not sure I like them more than Mother's Circus Animals.
