Review: Burger King - Crispy Chicken Ranch Snack Wrap

Burger King's Ranch Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap is pretty much identical to McDonald's Crispy Ranch Snack Wrap at least as far as components go. It's lettuce, shredded cheese, Ranch dressing, and a fried, breaded chicken strip wrapped up in a flour tortilla.

I picked up one for $1.59 at my local BK restaurant.

Review: Burger King - New Onion Rings

Burger King's new Onion Rings aren't as dramatically different or as heralded as their new Fries. They're more subtly changed but better for it.

I paid $1.29 for a value-sized order.

News: New Ruffles Flavors: Smokehouse BBQ and Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins

Frito Lay debuts two new Ruffles potato chip flavors this Spring: Smokehouse Style BBQ and Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins.

The premise is that since it takes a while to make both dishes, the new Ruffles flavors can serve as a lazy man's substitute.

The flavor of Smokehouse Style BBQ is described as "dry-rub style barbecue flavor in every bite." Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles "offer the great taste of potato skins piled high with ingredients" which, if the picture is any indication, means cheddar, bacon, sour cream, and chives.

Review: Burger King - Chicken Strips and New Sauces

Burger King's Chicken Strips are part of the recent menu expansion and feature breaded and battered pieces of marinated chicken tenderloin strips. They resemble McDonald's Chicken Selects more than a little.

I bought 3 pieces for $3.29 and picked up the two new Kung Pao and Jalapeno BBQ dipping sauces while I was at it.

Baskin-Robbins' April Flavor of the Month this year in Jamoca Almond Fudge.

It features Jamoca ice cream (coffee ice cream) plus ribbons of chocolate fudge and roasted almonds.

Correct me if I'm mistaken but, I always though Jamocha Almond Fudge was a regular flavor at Baskin-Robbins? At least it used to be from what I remember. Did they get rid of it?

Burger King has undergone a dramatic menu expansion and it looks suspiciously similar to rival McDonald's more recent offerings.

Most of the new items are of the better-for-you variety as Burger King looks to expand their demo. Apparently, they tested over two dozen menu items and people ended up wanting the same stuff they could order at McDonald's.

Review: Taco Bell - Volcano Taco

For those who just can't get enough spice in their Crunchy Tacos, Taco Bell has the Volcano Taco which is similar but sports a red shell of warning and a very spicy "molten hot lava sauce" that is the heart of the Volcano menu.

I bought one for $1.19 which is a little more than the 99 cent crunchy version.
